Simple command makes recorded sessions more useful

When troubleshooting or investigating a problem, it can be helpful to record your session. When doing so, logging the current time frequently can help you figure out how what you're seeing as a result of various "show" commands relates to other events that may be happening.

To show the current time from the router's perspective, you can use one of the following commands:
  • show clock
  • show clock detail
The latter shows additional information such as the clock source and whether daylight savings time is used. If investigating a possible hacking incident, this additional detail may be useful in strengthening the evidence.
