This blog covers design and technology in the broadest sense possible. It's the place I collect designers thoughts, work and findings to share with the public.
One thing about a virtual machine that's still physical
If you're testing VoIP software on a virtual machine, you may think that the speaker and microphone may be virtual too. However, this is one part of a virtual machine that still needs something physical. For example, when installing Cisco IP Communicator on VMWare, you may receive a message that no audio advice is available. To solve this problem, plug a headset into your computer when the virtual machine is running, so the drivers install on the virtual machine. Also, enable bi-directional audio in your remote desktop connection.
