Make your image pop with an outside glow

When drop shadows don't offer enough contrast, try a glow instead. Soft drop shadows often fade into dark backgrounds, but an Outer Glow might be just what you need to add impact to your image and make it "pop" . It's quick and easy to do with a layer style.

To add a glow to your image:
  1. Remove the background from around your object as you normally would.
  2. Click on the Add A Layer Style button at the base of the Layers panel, and select Outer Glow from the pop-up menu.
  3. Set the color of the glow to white and adjust the Spread and Size to suit your needs.
  4. Click OK when you're done.
